Are you a graduate with experience of working in media or PR? Are you looking for a fresh challenge within a growing sector that will give you exposure to many different audiences and raise your own profile? Are you looking for a position that could lead to a long term career with additional training and development?
In line with our strategic marketing objectives we are now seeking an enthusiastic Media Relations Officer to draft and implement a public relations programme.
You must be able to deal with day-to-day press enquiries in a confident proactive manner, always looking to extend the opportunity.
You must have excellent writing skills and be able to sell a story. You will be regularly briefing key journalists, implementing effective media monitoring and photographers. On top of this you must be able to assess what you personally and the organisation want out of a project and critically judge whether your objectives have been achieved at the end.
The position will require you to build, segment and manage your own contacts database, always looking to maximise return on ‘above-the-line’ opportunities that arise on a day to day basis.
You will of course be responsible for drafting press releases and case studies to support our on-going business efforts, including launches, shows and events. This will also include taking the lead when third party stakeholders are involved.
You will get involved with building goodwill using ‘social media’ and looking for other new and inventive ways to push the boundaries of your PR remit.
You will have an active involvement within other areas of the business segment and will work closely with colleagues to ensure that all activities are implemented in a co-ordinated manner.
