This is a key role in a busy and results driven media and PR team based in the Marketing and Communications Department, reporting to the Media and PR Manager.
You will have overall responsibility for raising the external profile of the University’s research and innovation activities. Your role will include working with the relevant research institutes, schools of study and relevant departments to identify stories to gain national exposure in the media and through social channels.
You will also promote the University’s activity for the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) submissions and seek to raise the profile of the University’s REF output.
You will have the ability to communicate complex information in a way that effectively engages with stakeholders and have relevant experience in PR or Journalism. Good media contacts, excellent communication and writing skills are a must. You must be able to work well under pressure and be able to meet tight deadlines - as well as the ability to work on your own initiative and be a good team player.
