Principle Tasks:

This individual is responsible for helping to develop and manage the global public relations program. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Develop and synchronize key messaging themes in coordination with the global and regional PR, IR and Marketing programs;
  • Generate opportunities for and write all press releases; manage approval and sign-off processes; manage translation where necessary;
  • Publish press releases, including management of wire services, distribution to local and regional media and analysts;
  • Draft bylined articles and secure suitable placements;
  • Update media tracker with all relevant content and promote accordingly
  • Proactively manage trade media relationships as key regional interface;
  • Engage in social media program on behalf of the company in-region and in coordination with Director of Corporate Communications & Online Strategies
  • Create media alerts for speaking slots at key regional industry trade shows, conferences, exhibitions and forums;
  • Attend and represent ADVA Optical Networking at industry trade shows, including booking interviews with industry media;
  • Maintain up-to-date regional media databases;
  • Develop stories for internal communication and ensure internal online platforms remain current;
  • Perform competitive benchmarking and develop structured action plans that ensure we continue to be seen a thought leader;
  • Proof read a wide range of documents ensuring all writing conforms to house style
  • Ensure company website and other online platforms are up-to-date and feature all the latest news;
  • Help to implement the regular maintenance and development of all ADVA online communications tools, including Internet, Intranet, e-forms and other areas where required
  • Uphold and maintain ADVA corporate brand identity and quality requirements with regard to online communications tools, performing periodic reviews for accuracy and timeliness
  • Serve as a resource to the entire regional team to ensure consistency, accuracy and timeliness of information

    Qualifications:

  • University degree in business, communications, journalism or similar field from a leading U.S. or European university
  • Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Strong writer capable of working across a diverse range of technology topics
  • Genuine understanding of social media and experience of running multiple online campaigns
  • Highly developed organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent proof reader
  • In-depth knowledge of Associated Press style
  • Strong attention to detail and drive for consistency
  • Experience with technology and/or telecommunications field(s)
  • Extensive working knowledge and experience with all Microsoft software applications, in particular Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Willing to travel to Europe and/or within U.S.
  • German-language skills an advantage

    Experience:

  • Extensive previous experience in a media, analyst, communications or public relations position with a business-to-business focus required.
  • Previous experience in an international environment or foreign country preferred, with high-tech industry experience important
