This exciting new role would be ideal for a real ‘news hound’ PR with fantastic media relations strategy experience and a broad range of contacts. Working with the Head of Corporate Affairs and Brand PR Managers, you will be responsible for identifying and exploiting media opportunities for the thousands of products, seasonal campaigns and brand initiatives.
You will be expected to work with media partners to secure sponsorship, high profile advertorial and editorial campaigns whilst maximising brand profile opportunities.
Alongside the various PR agencies you will be involved in press shows and media events as well as corporate and financial releases and ensure all media programmes are in line with broader brand strategies.
In addition to this you will be in charge of the in-house press office function, managing a team and the extensive flow of media loans and enquiries. This fast paced and involving role has huge scope and opportunity to really develop your skills and take your strong media experience to the next strategic and creative level.
This role will suit a PR candidate with either agency or in-house press office experience across consumer or retail brands.
You will be able to adapt your skills to work across brands ranging from fashion to toys or jewellery to home ware from one campaign to the next. Additionally you will be able to demonstrate confident media strategy and be able to deliver presentations to senior level management.
You will come with a broad media contact list across national, regional and lifestyle press and be able to develop media spokespeople within the business across broadcast and press outlets.
Creativity is an essential for this role as responsibility for developing look books, gift guides and managing photo calls will be another duty of the role. Your ability to manage and integrate social media and digital campaigns will also be called upon, so experience in doing this alongside traditional PR campaigns will be integral.
Flexibility will also be essentially as you will have the ability to work with celebrities and their representatives on various sponsorship / endorsement campaigns as well as being able to explain campaign ideas to the MD and board level.
