Our client, The RAF Association is looking for an experienced PR professional to work from its HQ in Leicester.
Media and PR Officer (Maternity Cover)
Salary: Circa £24,000
Full-Time 37.5 hours
You should have PR experience of all forms of media including social media, TV and radio as well as experience of researching, writing and placing articles for newspapers or specialist press. You must have excellent copywriting skills and be able to write creatively, expressively and use excellent grammar.
As part of a very small team you will often work unsupervised and this will require good planning and organisation skills. You must have a driving licence and be fit to undertake light manual handling work. We would also prefer someone who was a good photographer and with relevant PR qualifications, however PR experience is more important to us. As the first point of contact for PR information, you will need to be confident, have an excellent and enthusiastic telephone manner and be outgoing.
You will be responsible for identifying and exploring PR opportunities, supplying information about the Association and its work to a broad audience, leading and coordinating media opportunities at our events, promoting all aspects of our work and writing creative and interesting press releases and news articles. We need someone with a ‘can do’ and flexible attitude as there will be some out of normal hours working, including weekends, required.
