A highly successful market leading service provider in Worcestershire, now seek a Press Officer to join their very busy press office. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organisation’s reputation with key audiences via all aspects of the media, including broadcast media, in respect of both reactive and proactive press enquiries, drafting appropriate press statements and briefing notes and in addition be required to write feature articles and press releases.
It is absolutely essential that you have superb press office experience as our client’s reputation is key, therefore you must have a very strong track record of working on reactive press enquiries and crisis management and a proven track record of liaising and building relationships with a range of media including, national, trade, regional and broadcast.
The main focus of the role is to manage the press enquiries to a very high standard and be able to deal with anything from minor every day issues to more serious situations within minutes of each other, therefore you will have proven yourself as a real multi-tasker in a challenging environment. The ideal person may be a former journalist with significant proven press office experience, (in particular managing reactive enquiries) and providing advice to senior members of staff.
As a person you have a confident yet approachable manner, are able to make decisions quickly, efficiently and effectively, work as part of a very busy team, have the ability to work in pressured/ busy / hands on environment, be able to meet and manage deadlines, have strong organisational skills, superb writing ability and plenty of drive and enthusiasm.
