Are you a skilled global PR manager with corporate communications, media relations and social media experience?
Would you be interested in a leading global FMCG brand based in West London?
In this role you will be responsible for the companies vision, values, goals and strategy through the use of appropriate external communications/PR activities, primarily media relations, awards, conferences, speaking opportunities and other appropriate profiling opportunities for the business and its senior executives.
To develop and manage a pipeline of news to profile the companies pioneering and market leading product and service developments, to support marketing and sales activity via the use of targeted media relations in key international English language business and trade press and working with local language experts to target local business and trade media.
This role reports to the Group Head of Communications. It operates as a key part of a small central communications team, so experience of the full communications mix across digital and internal communications, as well as an understanding of marketing and brand, is important.
Developing and implementing external communications plans and media relations activities to support various initiatives, often in consultation with the group head of communications and other stakeholders, but also working independently with minimal supervision.
Managing and updating the global communications calendar, in consultation with internal communications and other parts of the business.
Developing and maintaining a forward external communications action plan for the year, as part of the overall communications strategy and calendar.
Identifying newsworthy opportunities, research, write, clear and sell in news releases.
Developing media/ PR plans to complement marketing activity and new product launches.
Media and blog monitoring, print and online.
Building and maintaining media lists across key business and trade media.
Working with the financial PR agency and Head of group communications on media activities associated with the financial calendar as needed.
Reactive response to media enquiries as needed.
Ensuring 'boilerplate' introduction to presentation is used appropriately and content is tailored for audience while still supporting the business's overall brand positioning.
Investigating and recommending appropriate trade and industry awards to raise the profile of the business. Drafting entries in consultation with subject matter experts and manage the entry and ongoing process.
Working with the Head of group communications and other members of the communications team to manage and advise on issues in line with guidelines as needed.
Developing the media section of the website in consultation with the corporate communications manager and head of group communications to build out a media centre and associated materials.
Significant international media relations experience, particularly with the leading national business dailies in different parts of the world.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills - with English being the company's primary operating language for global communications materials.
Comfortable moving from the strategic to tactical.
Experience of using and working with social media channels
Experience of working in a global organisation, with a diverse, multisite work force - cultural sensitivity.
A 'doer', with a focus on quick and accurate delivery.
Ability to work on own with minimal supervision as well as being a positive team player
Strong relationship manager, both internal and with external groups
Strong influencing skills.
Any language skills would be a benefit.
