This role is for a thinker who can look at PR and communications with both mature and fresh eyes. Call it a Strategic Director if you like, or Creative Planner if you prefer, what counts is that this leading and highly respected Global PR consultancy is looking for a talented Director who has the right mix of creativity and prowess to think up and understand a generationally different function and persuade the people that matter to get behind it.
In all likelihood the shape of things will involve a truly integrated and experiential fabric. Audiences are changing and how they’re accessed is changing too. As a result of some very high profile corporate clients — the digital/creative/planning offer represents a very vibrant part of the company that will rely heavily on the talent of its head. While there’s an established capability in this area, this is a new role enhanced by an expanding remit and the need to inject commercial energy into this part of the business.
This is certainly a business-oriented role — highly targeted at raising revenue as you work alongside ‘virtual’ and remote teams across Europe, while in London you’ll be working alongside a vital and vibrant team of practitioners working in creative planning and content production, all of whom pull in or generate new business.
Your job is not just to help think it, but to believe it too. What’s more you’ll need others to believe it with you, so driving changes internally and externally will warrant a credible and highly driven practitioner who has done some growing up in the industry but also sees where the industry itself has room to grow up too.
