Media Manager

London or Warwickc £45k

From solving the challenges of developing a sustainable energy system through to delivering innovative corporate social responsibility projects like our Energy Education Centre, we’ve got lots of exciting things to talk about. You’ll make sure we’re heard. Providing expert support to the Head of Corporate Media Relations, you’ll champion our reputation across UK and US media. Managing our media services team and specialist consultancies, you’ll make a key contribution to our media relations strategy and business positioning initiatives. Producing and promoting a compelling annual media services programme, you’ll develop media-specific materials and services to strengthen our brand. Focussing particularly on digital and online channels, and providing best practice advice to US and UK teams, you’ll take us to the leading edge of media relations.

To be equal to the challenge, you’ll need a flair for managing and enhancing the reputation of a company. A gifted strategic thinker with a proven ability to help develop key business and policy decisions, you have an impressive track record of devising and delivering successful PR materials and channels. Naturally, we’ll expect you to have strong knowledge of the utilities sector. A team player with excellent people skills, you’ve managed complex business issues and projects - always delivering on time and to the highest standards. Degree qualified, and a member of a relevant trade association or networking group, you will ideally also have a recognised Journalism/PR certificate, preferably twinned with professional experience in a direct media relations post.

National Grid is more than just a gas and electricity provider. As the largest utility in the UK, we are committed to delivering sustainable energy now and connecting people to the energy they need for generations to come. We’re also committed to delivering high standards as an employer, working together to develop our skills and deliver innovative solutions to manage our energy networks safely and reliably. With a major new infrastructure investment ongoing, we’re looking for outstanding individuals who share our values and are keen to become part of our highly respected team. Our people, our future, our promise - there’s never been a better time to join us.

In return for your dedication, you’ll benefit from our commitment to your ongoing personal and professional growth. In addition to excellent development opportunities, you’ll enjoy the advantages of an attractive package that includes an individual performance related bonus, defined contribution pension scheme and 25 days holiday. What’s more, our comprehensive flexible benefits scheme offers a range of lifestyle, health and protection benefits.
