Marketing and Communications Executive
RES is one of the world's leading renewable energy developers. Drawing on three decades of experience in the renewable energy sector, RES has the expertise to develop, construct and operate large-scale wind farms and has now passed the 6.5GW milestone for projects delivered.
The Group Communications and Marketing Department leads strategic communications and marketing activities to enhance the awareness, reputation, reach and impact of RES Group. The Department is seeking a Marketing and Communications Executive to strengthen the team and to take specific responsibility for implementing effective marketing and communications activities in RES Offshore.
The offshore renewables sector has grown significantly over recent years and is set to become a major renewable energy industry, offering opportunities for significant business development and growth. RES Offshore not only develops its own projects but also provides development, engineering and technical consultancy services to developers and owners of wind, wave and tidal projects. It has played a major role in the development, construction and operation of projects in UK Rounds 1, 2 and 3 and is growing its business both in the UK and other markets. Its consultancy services cover all stages of a project's life cycle from development through to operation and all elements from turbines through to the grid.
The Marketing and Communications Executive will work as part of the Group Communications and Marketing team to enhance the Group's reputation and profile with key stakeholders in the renewable energy industry, to support and influence marketing activities, to manage and develop the RES brand, and to maintain effective internal communications that ensure high staff engagement and support organisational learning,
The post holder will take specific responsibility for coordinating these activities in respect to RES Offshore and is expected to spend around 50% of their time directly engaged in this. They will work with all sections of the offshore business under the supervision of the RES Offshore Commercial Manager.
Responsibilities with respect to RES Offshore will include:
Communications and Marketing strategy
Developing the RES Offshore marketing and communications strategy to support the business objectives including the development of key messages and ensuring that consistent communication is carried out externally and internally.
Developing RES Offshore branding in line with Group branding guidelines, ensuring consistent use of the RES Offshore brand in all internal and external materials.
Information and Research management
Ensuring the collation and maintenance of information and relevant databases of case studies, key industry information and RES Offshore statistics. Managing the provision of background information in support of events, media engagement, and internal communications.
Devising the events programme for RES Offshore and managing the booking and co-ordination of event activity and external suppliers. Overseeing stand design and production of event-related collateral. Providing post-event analysis.
Delivering an advertising strategy to support the RES Offshore marketing and communications strategy including booking space in relevant titles to agreed budgets, drafting copy and overseeing advert design.
Overseeing maintenance of the RES Offshore website.
Planning, managing and reporting on the RES Offshore marketing and communications budget expenditure.
Suitable candidates for this role will already have, or will be keen to develop, a broad range of marketing and communications skills. They will be motivated by the opportunity to develop and enhance the Group and RES Offshore's marketing and communications activities in support of its business objectives and to build effective internal communications within a rapidly expanding workforce.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate that they have the following capabilities:
* The ability to gather and interpret information from both within the businesses and from external sources to develop key business messages.
* The ability to write and edit copy for print based advertising, web pages, articles, editorials and internal communications.
* Experience of print and web based marketing.
The following attributes would be advantageous:
* A current UK driving licence.
* Experience in the renewable energy sector, including marine and offshore.
* Experience in marine engineering or the offshore oil and gas sector
* Experience of trade show exhibitions and events management.
* Experience of media relations.
* Experience of public and/or business presentations/interviews.
