My client is an educational charity working in partnership with schools and other organisations to break the link between low family income and poor educational attainment. Established for over ten years, they are seeking to fight against inequality both inside and outside of the classroom and are currently relishing in a period of rapid growth. As a dynamic and inspiring organisation, they hire the highest caliber of enthuastic individuals to champion their vision. Their powerful mission determines all that they do and they are now looking for a new Senior Press Officer to ensure this is projected throughout the local, national and regional levels.
As Senior Press Officer you will be responsible for the press office whilst developing and running proactive PR and Press strategy campaigns. You will build and maintain the charity’s profile, engaging with key stakeholders whilst seeking to influence national government figures, leaders in international businesses, think tanks, teacher unions, and the organisation’s national ambassadors and supporters. Both nationally and regionally you will build strong relationships with journalists across all divisions whilst developing a reactive press function, producing up to date press packs and work with the Public Affairs and Policy Senior Officer to ensure that the key policy messages are communicated and heard in the policy arena. An incredibly exciting opportunity, they are looking for someone hard-working who can bring exceptional creativity and flair to their communications work. With a network of contacts and strong leadership ability, you will bring your determination and creativity to champion this brilliant cause, impressing its importance on the makers and shapers of policy and perception.
It is essential you have:
- Previous experience running a press office
- A strong network of media contacts
- A creative, innovative and lateral approach to developing PR strategies
- The ability to change attitudes and sell a message
- Passion for this cause, a can-do attitude and the energy and ability to adapt to such a dynamic organisation.
- Previous work within a campaigning charity or within an education organisations is beneficial but essential
