You will help support the implementation and administration of the essential PR activity for the event. You will work closely with two Press Officers to deliver much needed support at this crucial and busy time for the charity. This is a fast paced and exciting role that would suit someone that has worked previously as an assistant press officer in a similar role or someone from a PR agency who has worked their way up to Account Executive level. You will ideally have had experience supporting high profile events or visitor attractions.
You will be working on a world renowned event that attracts a lot of attention from the press in the UK and internationally. Working in this role will give you unprecedented access to some of the UK`s leading journalists across in print, broadcast and online. You will already have a good knowledge of the UK media, be confident in selling-in` stories to the press and gaining great coverage from it and have experience meeting and participating in journalist face-to-face meetings.
You will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and be able to write press materials for both internal and external distribution to excellent standard.
Organisation is key with this job as there are many facets to the role that you will be required to juggle to ensure the event flows seamlessly. It would suit someone who is adaptable and who keeps calm under pressure due to likelihood of changing schedules and priorities shifting from one hour/day to the next!
This is a hard working, friendly and down-to-earth team and would suit someone with those traits. The charity is looking for someone to start in January 2013 for a 6 month contract so immediate starters or people with short notice periods will be favoured.
