An important opportunity has arisen for an experienced and talented professional to join East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service as our Communications & Marketing Manager.
You will be responsible for all of our communications, aimed at the widest possible audience. This will involve media relations, public affairs, internal communications, research, production of publications, management of the website, and finding effective ways to use social media. You will also be responsible for the delivery of a business services function to Service Headquarters and our community fire stations.
Managing a dedicated team, a priority for you will be to develop and implement first-class high impact communications and social marketing strategies that will create real awareness of important issues.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a broad range of experience as a communications professional and PR spokesperson, working with complex, sometimes very sensitive, material across all types of media. An outstanding communicator, the post holder will excel at writing and editing a broad range of materials including: news releases, feature articles, newsletters and other publications aimed at diverse audiences.
You will be a superb networker and have an ability to work closely with a broad range of stakeholders, often at a very senior level, including Councillors, staff, other Fire & Rescue Services, local government, Police and other agencies. The Communications & Marketing Manager will build productive relationships, ensuring effective communications and excellent reputation and brand management.
