Artist Liaison Manager
£36,110- £45,350 per annum
Oxford / London
Maternity cover up to 14months
As one of the world’s best known charities, Oxfam already attracts support from a wide range of celebrities; from writers and musicians, to sports personalities and film & TV actors. As Oxfam Ambassadors they whole-heartedly believe in the work we do and give us their full support, making a tremendous contribution to the campaigning and fundraising we need to do. Maintaining and building on these and new relationships will be down to you as Artist Liaison Manager.
With direction from the Communications Director and working closely with the Head of PR, you and your team will be responsible for delivering a strategy for our work with celebrities that ensures maximum impact all round. It’s about managing effectively the relationships we already have, as well as seeking out new high-quality relationships. It’s also about looking at the events, projects and campaigns we have in place, coming up with fresh and inspiring ways for artists to participate and making sure we get the right person for the job – using the power of the media and the celebrity image to represent our efforts to the widest possible audience. So you’ll collaborate with Oxfam’s media, PR, events and campaigns teams to put together plans, you’ll work closely with the artists and their management teams and you’ll juggle multiple projects effectively to ensure the biggest impact possible. But whether you’re travelling overseas or working with our celebrity supporters in the UK, your end goal will be the same: to get the profile that ensures that more people get involved in the fight against poverty.
What we’re looking for
Coming from a similar background in another charity, artist management, the media, or a PR company, you’ll know all about working with high profile figures. Whatever your background you’ll have a good understanding of PR, media and fundraising events. Dynamic, energetic and creative, you’re the person with the ideas, who can work on multiple projects and with your knowledge of Oxfam’s work, pitch the right opportunities to the right celebrities. But more than that, you’re able to devise and deliver a strategy, whilst being flexible and adaptable and able to prioritise competing demands. Great communication, negotiating and influencing skills mean you’re able to develop good working relationships internally, externally and at all levels, whilst achieving great results. This is not a 9 to 5 job, so you’ll need to be able to put in the hours required, including frequent travel in the UK and overseas.
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
