Ellwood Atfield's client is a leading health based membership organisation. They provide their members with one of the strongest lobbying voices in the healthcare sector. They have a regular presence in the media on health policy and employment issues. They have retained Ellwood Atfield to recruit a Media Relations Manager.
As the Media Relations Manager you will be responsible for:
- Managing the organisation’s presence and profile in the media, and interaction with the media, including international and national newspapers and broadcasters, regional, specialist and online media.
- Leading a team of staff responsible for delivering the media service. Provide line management, supervision, and plan overall workload. The media manager is also responsible for recruitment of the media team.
- Managing the overall media strategy and overseeing the implementation of specific media plans
In order to qualify for this post you must have previous experience of working within a media or public relations environment with a strong understanding of how the national media functions. You will be required to be highly proactive in your working style and have an ability to engage with senior journalists from the specialist trade, national broadcast and print media. Proven ability of developing and delivering effective media campaigns and/or achieving clear policy influencing objectives is also essential.
