British American Tobacco is looking for a press relations manager to work in our PLC headquarters press office who can help create, plan and roll out proactive communications campaigns. You will be responsible for communicating the good work our company and people do, and why we have a relevant role to play in addressing key issues such as reduced harm products including e-cigarettes, sustainability and illegal tobacco trafficking.
Your role will be to develop and implement integrated campaigns on behalf of a number of business units within the British American Tobacco Group, as well as providing advice to countries around the world regarding media engagement. You will be used to presenting and defending your ideas to internal clients as well as providing strategic and tactical counsel.
You will be able to write quickly and accurately, producing holding statements for journalists at short notice, as well as being able to write high quality media engagement materials such as press releases, by-lined articles, blog posts and communications plans. You will also know how to harness social media to augment our traditional media relations activities to ensure our messages get through to the right audience.
You will have experience in delegating upwards, as well as down, to ensure work gets done on time and to the required standard. You will be able to multi-task effortlessly, have a proven track record in generating strategic media coverage, and will thrive on developing and placing proactive stories regarding British American Tobacco and its vision for the future.
