Founded by serial entrepreneur and digital pioneer, Clive Jackson, Victor is a smarter way to book private jet travel; a transparent online marketplace cutting out the middle man and their hidden costs. Victor uniquely offers its members the chance to defray costs by selling surplus seats to other members – therefore creating a brand new market for travel on a private jet on a per seat basis.

Although an internet based business, the brand has developed a luxury identity through eye-catching and striking imagery and strategic partnerships with the world’s leading luxury brands such as Orient Express Group, Sotheby’s International and Lamborghini. There are currently just over 3,000 members of the online community; high net worth individuals with international lives; the who’s who of the entrepreneurial world, business owners, CEOs and Captains of Industry. As the company launches globally, the potential for growth is unlimited.

The Opportunity

Victor is now seeking a PR Director to join their growing team. As part of a dynamic and innovative start-up company, the individual will need to be hands-on, flexible, self-sufficient and possess an entrepreneurial spirit. The candidate should have a strong interest in being part of a real innovation in the online travel and private aviation industries.

Responsibilities

On joining you will be the driving force behind the company’s PR strategies and activities within the UK. You will be expected to make an immediate impact as you work alongside the other key stakeholders in the business. The PR Director will have responsibility for the creation, planning, and implementation of Victor’s PR, communications strategies and activities.

The following is an indicative list of the responsibilities and activity that the successful candidate will be expected to undertake:

  • Responsible for media relations with luxury, consumer, lifestyle and travel sectors of national print, magazines, digital and broadcast media
  • Develop and implement communications strategies in line with brand marketing and communications activities
  • Develop campaign plan to ensure consistent level quality press coverage within target – print, online and broadcast
  • Coordinate media interest in Victor and ensure regular contact with target media in the luxury, lifestyle, consumer and travel and appropriate business fields
  • Produce appropriate responses to media requests
  • Content creation and delivery of relevant media documentation, including press releases, editorial, and other media communications as required
  • Keep up to date with the competitor market in order to be fully versed in the private aviation marketplace offer
  • Oversee, measure and monitor social media channels
  • Seek out opportunities for the CEO to act as industry spokesperson at relevant events
  • Ensure appropriate media training for CEO and senior management team
  • Act as a spokesperson for Victor when appropriate
  • Monitor and evaluate results of PR activities and report on the performance
  • Handle all communications including issues and crisis management
  • Assist in the growth and recruitment of international PR teams
  • Support the activity of other colleagues as required

Skills and Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of the luxury, travel, and lifestyle consumer market
  • Possess strong media relations skills and an instinct for a story
  • Have strong public relations experience gained within an agency or busy in-house press office
  • Extensive contacts within the luxury, consumer, lifestyle and travel media
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Able to deliver clear and concise ideas to internal and external stakeholders and produce top quality written communications
  • Self-starter, entrepreneurial with hands on approach towards business and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • International experience
