Our client, the country’s leading healthcare services provider, has created a new role to support its bold vision for the company and for the future of independent healthcare provision. They are looking for an experienced Sustainability Manager who will be responsible for articulating a series of programmes that will help engage millions of people in their health and wellbeing across the UK. Joining the UK Corporate Affairs team in London, this role will be responsible for helping shape and execute a number of activities that help deliver on this vision, as well as taking responsibility for monitoring, tracking and reporting on the organisation’s progress.
The main purpose of the job is to work closely with the Head of Government Affairs and Sustainability and the Director of Corporate Affairs (plus other internal stakeholders) to support the development and shape the overall strategy for the programmes. The ambition is to engage people about their health and wellbeing in four main disease areas including diabetes and heart disease.
You will be the lead point of contact between the company and its external partners, ensuring activities are coordinated, streamlined and effective. You will also lead on the reporting of the organisation’s activity to engage people in their health and wellbeing, and to ensure that all partnership work streams are created on time and to budget, overseeing the delivery of multiple projects and deliverables. There will also be the chance to optimise communications and advocacy opportunities, strengthening the company’s reputation for tackling the toughest challenges in healthcare.
You will need to be able to manage contracts, budgets and oversee the delivery of multiple projects. As well as being able to audit, analyse and report on the impact and outcomes of the partnerships, and ensure these are reported correctly.
The ideal candidate will have relevant work experience managing complex programmes and partnerships with charities, business, NGOs and other partners to deliver business and social benefit. You will also have experience in driving commercial results from charity and other partnerships to support customer acquisition, brand building and/or the development of new services or propositions. A solid understanding of, and passion for, health and sustainability issues is VITAL. It would also be beneficial if you were a strategic thinker who is able to translate strategy into robust plans with clear deliverables and milestones. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential as is the ability to work at all levels of the organisation and act as a brand ambassador.
