Corporate Communications Manager
VisitEngland is the national tourist board, responsible for marketing England to domestic and overseas markets. We work in partnership with the industry to develop the visitor experience across England, plan national tourism strategy, grow the value of tourism in England and provide advocacy for the industry and our visitors.
As a key part of the Strategy and Development team, reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, you will be instrumental in implementing communication strategies to raise the profile of tourism and the reputation of VisitEngland among opinion-formers and decision-makers.
You will do so primarily by managing and delivering an efficient and proactive press office function, as well as by assisting with the multimedia corporate communications strategy, providing an internal communications service and taking particular responsibility for building the profile of the Chairman and Chief Executive at local, regional and national levels.
Of graduate calibre with proven experience of press communications theory and practice, you have already demonstrated your ability to handle the media, working proactively to place stories and messages. Ideally from a government PR background, you will have the skills and know-how to monitor and use the political news agenda to good advantage. It is equally important that you understand the key performance indicators for corporate PR.
Continually striving for best practice, you have a flair for building effective business relationships and for creating a positive and supportive working environment. To excel in this role you will need to be a first class communicator, project manager and problem solver, with excellent writing skills, a good level of computer literacy and a great eye for detail in the production of presentations and AV materials.
