The role of the Press Officer
This is a superb opportunity for a driven, motivated and creative individual who can produce clear, persuasive and accessible communication . You will need to have the judgement and drive to make difficult decisions and remain focused under pressure. You should enjoy tackling complex issues with determination and be able to take appropriate action quickly and confidently, even in the face of resistance.
Key responsibilities of the Press Officer
*To use the most effective and appropriate channels and technologies to deliver communications.
*Anticipate and spot breaking news stories and be able to issue swift and appropriate responses
*Develop proactive longer-term handling strategies and provide regular media handling advice
*Forge strong working relationships with key journalists.
*Be able to produce clear, persuasive and accessible communication
*Previous experience of working with the media is useful, but not essential.
*The ability work as part of an out-of-hours duty rota system.
*SC or DV Clearance essential
