Morgan Hunt is working in collaboration with a charity in Bromley- South East London to recruit a Press Officer on a nine month fixed term contract.
The role of the Press Officer
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Press Officer to promote stories of the charity's work and reactively campaign their issues to the media. The Press Officer will also take considerable responsibility preparing proactive media stories to be published and will be the first point of contact for journalism enquiries.
Responsibilities of the Press Officer
*Promoting the charity's news stories to regional and national journalists.
*Prepare proactive stories publicising their media initiatives.
*Collate information from across the charity about activities that could be the focus of future press or communications work.
*Brief staff about handling media enquiries.
Candidate Requirements
*A strong news sense with excellent and engaging writing skills.
*Brilliant judgement.
*Experience of gaining high profile national media coverage in print or broadcast media.
*A Journalism degree is desirable.
*At least three years experience within a national press office (in-house or agency) promoting proactive stories to media outlets.
*Able to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
*Prior experience promoting stories across social media channels.
