Our client is a large charity based organisation who are looking for a press officer with a passion for writing and dealing in a busy reactive press environment.. This is an amazing opportunity for a good writer with some press experience to work for a very well respected organisation.
The press team is an integral part of the communications department and is responsible for the reputation of the organisation, by managing the UK media. The post requires lots of initiative, excellent writing and organisational skills, editorial judgement, awareness of reputational risk and willingness to muck in.
*Responding to press enquiries and ensuring they are responded to quickly and effectively.
*Supporting arts press projects to ensure maximum exposure
*Updating press contacts
*Writing and uploading press releases to the website
*Assisting with the organisation events and other media related activity.
*Liaising with the Homepage and social media teams to ensure alignment with digital channels.
Relationships with arts journalists are a priority and the Assistant Press Officer will be directed on this by the Senior Press officer.
Our client is looking for a candidate who has experience in press, working for a busy press office, dealing with reactive press. Sector knowledge is not crucial although having charity or public sector experience would be ideal. Any applicant must have very strong communications skills and be content with a 6 month contract. This role will move quickly and will move to interview stage in the next week or so, any candidate who is available immediately would be at an advantage.
