The PR & Communications Executive Opportunity:

We are looking to hire a PR & Communications Executive to support the Head of Communications. We are looking for an ambitious, energised and conscientious individual to provide support across the PR function. We are a rapidly growing business with £3 billion assets under management and the candidate will need to enjoy working in a fast paced environment. 


Key functions of the PR & Communications Executive role to include:

> Manage the media relations programme around our core products, under supervision from the Head of Communications

> Be responsible for drafting and issuing press releases, and follow up calls to target media

> Manage the media section on the website and intranet

> Develop and maintain a news calendar and forward features list for the company

> Monitor press coverage and be responsible for issuing the ‘In the News’ update

> Work with the Head of Communications on developing a press welcome pack and updating the media factsheet

> Keep biographies and photographs of key spokespeople updated

> Help prepare spokespeople for media engagement, including drafting press briefing notes

> Manage media events/invitations 

> Maintain the media engagement record

> Attend relevant industry events

> Act as the no.2 on all PR issues, providing another point of contact for the media, our PR agencies and internal stakeholders

PR & Communications Executive Required Skills:

> Proven work experience in PR or journalism

> Exceptional written and verbal communications skills

> If from a PR background, evidence of good media relations 

> Track record of pitching interesting and creative story ideas

> Excellent interpersonal skills

> Good attention to detail 

> Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, and willingness to 'pitch in' as required in a small organisation

> An exceptional ability to multi-task

> Excellent organisational skills

> Evidence of success when working under pressure and working to deadlines

> An understanding of the financial services industry is essential
