Background

Position within VMA Group
This role sits within the Corporate Communications team and will specialise in junior, permanent corporate communications roles within finance and investor relations sectors.

Job Purpose
• To build and maintain loyal, profitable relationships with both existing and new clients
• To develop business for VMA, for the practices and for the individual
• To create and develop relationships with existing and new candidates
• To handle permanent/interim recruitment assignments from brief to completion
• To ensure that individual and team revenue targets are met and maximised by the successful and continuous placement of candidates within your practice area

Principle Responsibilities

Candidates
• Build and develop relationships with candidates
• Interview candidates and ensure the correct registration procedures are adhered to using the database
• Maintain regular post-registration contact to demonstrate commitment and support the process of sourcing leads/referrals
• Ensure candidates are fully briefed and debriefed regarding client interviews
• Assist colleagues with other assignments by recommending suitable candidates to ensure we optimise all business opportunities
• Help candidates with some career counsel eg CV hints and tips, as appropriate

Clients
• Grow existing client relationships, re-establish old ones and generate new business via company marketing initiatives and cross-selling within the financial and investor relations sectors
• Secure face-to-face client visits to build knowledge, establish rapport and powerfully present the benefits of working with VMA Search and Selection and with you as an individual
• Manage client expectations during the recruitment process to ensure a fast, streamlined and productive result
• Take advantage of networking opportunities both in and out of office hours
• Set and achieve a realistic % fill rate on roles worked on

Advertising/Marketing
• Prepare advertising copy for any client paid advertising and general VMA Group advertising
• Take part in the planning and executing of annual marketing plans for your practice area
• Attend any marketing events that take place, including out of hours events
• Follow up client enquiries and sales leads


Other Responsibilities
• Keep abreast of industry developments through research and examination of relevant media to increase market awareness
• Build and maintain a relevant network of business contacts – clients and candidates
• Continually promote team and company spirit, and act with integrity, honesty and professionalism at all times
• Develop a full understanding of search, database and advertising methodologies
• Provide cover for colleagues during their absence
• Be fully aware of VMA’s vision and mission statements


Key Experience and Skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Outstanding spoken and written English skills
• Good listening and questioning skills and an ability to make sound assessments of people’s abilities
• A natural interest in people and their development
• The ability to remain calm under pressure
• Strong administrative ability with high attention to detail and the ability to follow tasks through to completion
• A positive, adaptable and flexible attitude is required as you will be dealing with all levels and cultures of candidates and clients
• A broad understanding of the business environment
• Educated to degree level, or the equivalent in experience
