JOB REF: 9265 (NH)

Are you a good all-round communicator looking for a job where no two days are the same?

We need an enthusiastic, hard-working professional to join our busy HQ Press Office. You will deal with local and national media both on the phone and at incidents, but will also use social and digital channels to promote the successes of the Force and engage with the public.

The role requires a nationally recognised communications qualification or equivalent, with recent and relevant experience working in the field.  Experience of press office work is desirable and excellent writing and interpersonal skills are essential.

You must have the capability to travel to different locations across the force. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working, public transport may not be available.  For this reason, a full UK driving licence is considered essential.  There is a requirement to fulfil on call duties evenings and weekends on a rota basis.

You will be able to work Monday – Friday, shifts starting at either

7.40am – 4.00pm, 8.40am – 5.00pm or 9.40am – 6.00pm.  You will be part of an on call rota with fixed dates.

Apply online or telephone the recruitment line on 0845 2 66 66 77 quoting reference 9265.

The closing date for enquiries and receipt of completed applications is Friday 8th November 2013.

We are keen to recruit people with a wide range of skills and experiences and an understanding of cultural issues. We are particularly encouraging people to join us from black, Asian and other minority ethnic communities who are under represented in the Force.
