UNICEF UK is looking for a Media Officer to support the work of the Public Engagement Media and Communications team, working with a diverse range of Fundraising and Campaigning teams to establish UNICEF UK as the leading organisation working for children and encouraging the UK public to take action in support of our work.
You will play a supporting role in Public Engagement communications activities assisting with strategy development for these activities, drafting press materials and implementing the media plan for specific projects. You will also organise press conferences, photo calls and briefings and build and maintain relationships with national and regional media.
You will have previous experience of working in a PR agency, media relations office or in journalism, ideally with specific experience of working in partnership with other external organisations in order to deliver media coverage. With significant experience of writing on and offline communications materials including press releases and features, you will have a good understanding of development issues and trends in the not-for-profit sector, particularly those relating to fundraising and campaigning.
