It’s our commitment to making life fairer, simpler and safer for UK consumers that’s enabled us to secure positive, enduring change for more than 50 years. And our ambition to do even more means we need to keep taking Which? from strength to strength. Growing our business to grow our impact.
As External Affairs Manager, you will play an important role in shaping how Which? communicates with, engages and influences businesses. You’ll do this by developing corporate engagement strategies that support Which?’s campaigns across a number of sectors, including financial services, energy, food and telecoms. You’ll provide colleagues with expert advice and intelligence on both individual companies and whole sectors, identifying and developing opportunities for Which? to work with businesses and to intervene in and influence markets.
In addition, you’ll also devise strategies for senior Which? executives to engage with their counterparts at key companies and industry bodies, producing high quality briefings and, when necessary, accompanying them to meetings. You will also work closely with colleagues across the organisation to embed a culture of excellence in how Which? engages with the corporate sector.
We are looking for candidates with a strong background in communications or stakeholder management, ideally with a corporate slant. You'll be extremely organised, diplomatic, completely unflappable and able to turn potentially tricky situations into positive ones. Above all, though, you'll have the confidence to influence people and make decisions on important issues.
In return, you'll get some great training, the support of a close-knit team and the chance to see your decisions make a real difference to UK consumers. Our benefits package includes 28 days’ holiday, medical cover, a contributory pension, structured development and access to our products and services.
