Head of Communications, Media & Stakeholder Engagement

£45,707 to £56,504 p.a./pro-rata
This is a great opportunity to become involved with the running of communications team at Birmingham Women’s NHS Foundation Trust, which is one of only two specialist trusts for women’s services in the UK.
Birmingham Women’s is the centre of excellence for specialist healthcare for women and neonates in the West Midlands, and has a growing national/international reputation for its Genomic service. As an organisation it is also about to embark on a major service/site redevelopment programme (Project VITA).
The role of Head of Communications, Media & Stakeholder Engagement will suit a candidate whose career has been built on success across a wide range of disciplines; media relations, internal communications, publications, strategic planning and stakeholder engagement, which will involve regular contact with the Trust’s Council of Governors, commissioners and partner organisations. In addition the successful candidate will need look at how we can revamp our briefing system, manage official openings for new services (such as our partnership with Boots), arrangements for TV news and documentaries filming (the Trust recently featured in BBC 2 documentary “The Midwives”).
You will be able to manage the flow of work for the Communications Team and ensure that deadlines are met, whilst keeping this small, but important team motivated.
The post is offered intially on a fixed term basis (two years) and will require a minimum commitment of 22 hours per week (to be worked flexible in order to meet the demand of this job). You will also be expected to provide an out of hours (on-call service) in order to respond major incidents or urgent media calls.
