Head of Campaigns and External Affairs

London, 35 hours per week, Permanent 


The role:

The Royal College of Nursing seeks a creative, experienced communications manager to head its external affairs and campaigns teams. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a strong and talented team within a high profile, campaigning organisation. Reporting to the UK director of communications, the post holder will lead the media, parliamentary, campaigns and digital engagement teams, ensuring that the RCN maintains and develops its high external profile and actively engages with our 410,000 members. 

The person:

Applicants must have excellent political judgement and influencing skills and a strong track record in strategic communications. This is a senior leadership role which requires substantial experience in managing communications specialists; an advanced understanding of how to deliver integrated communications campaigns; and the ability to work successfully with members, colleagues and external partners.
