We are seeking a Policy and Public Affairs Manager for the Communications Department, based in our London office. This is a stimulating and diverse role that demands a highly-developed understanding of politics and health public policy, and the ability to network and influence effectively across MPS, parliamentarians, decision-makers and other key stakeholders.
Your duties as a Policy and Public Affairs Manager will involve devising and delivering effective strategic engagement with the House of Commons and Lords, devolved bodies, Irish Houses of Parliament, European Union institutions, government departments and the wider policy community, including organisations representing doctors and dentists. You will seek, develop and exploit opportunities to promote MPS as the leading commentator on medicolegal issues, and represent MPS to key external stakeholders.
The successful Policy and Public Affairs Manager will also lead the process of responding to consultations, proposed legislation and other government initiatives, undertaking steps that include initial analysis, determining and recommending a course of action to senior colleagues, and implementing the agreed course of action.
