If you can make all kinds of material appeal to the widest possible audience, come and apply your writing skills at the very heart of Government.

We need a highly motivated professional to head up the Content and Channels team in our brand new Internal Communications Unit, which brings together internal communications and staff engagement teams from across the Home Office. You’ll tell our story to a varied and diverse workforce of around 27,000 staff at all levels: informing and engaging, identifying the most appropriate channel for each message and ensuring a consistent corporate narrative. As well as co-ordinating the production of a wide range of staff magazines, e-zines and briefing tools; you’ll lead on building up the new team to help make the Internal Communications Unit best in class.

Your impressive track record in journalism, copywriting or communications will be supported by excellent editing, influencing and relationship building skills. Innovative, creative and proactive, you’ll be capable of writing credible, interesting copy which meets the pragmatic needs of Government, finding new ways of using available media and motivating your team to achieve the highest standards. Proven ability to deliver projects to deadlines and manage budgets will ideally be supported by an appropriate qualification such as NCTJ.
