We have just been briefed on an exciting new role for 2014. Our client, one of London’s leading independent comms consultancies, is looking for an Account Director specialising in the pharmaceutical sector. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in this area with a clear understanding of compliance, PR and pan-European communications. The successful candidate will lead a number of client accounts with plenty of room for career development. In return you will take on an interesting and hugely rewarding role which is a little bit out of the ordinary. You will also have the opportunity of working with some of London’s leading healthcare PR professionals in a tight-knit organisation with a distinctive, collegiate culture.
This full-time role is an important position in the Healthcare team. The Account Director will provide strategic advice to the agency’s existing public relations clients together with management of client accounts, teams and budgets, backed by operational support where required. The Account Director will also lead on some new business activity including acquisition, development and pitching.
You will have expert knowledge of UK and European pharmaceutical brand PR plus advanced understanding of UK media across all channels. You will need effective time management and the ability to meet deadlines with strong organisational skills. Advanced creative writing, presentation and verbal communications skills would be an advantage as would competence in providing strategic advice. The role would suit someone who is an expert networker with strong contacts in the media, patient groups, KOLs, and healthcare community. Your experience can come from working at a similar level in either a public relations consultancy or in-house at a pharmaceutical company but you must have healthcare expertise.
