Regional Corporate Communications Advisor

West Yorkshire £competitive + benefits

It’s said that the best form of advertising is by word of mouth. Making Morrisons a talking point for all the best reasons in the region is the exciting opportunity we’re creating for an articulate and proactive Corporate Communications Advisor.

Here at Morrisons, We Buy, We Make, We Move, We Sell. We're a uniquely vertically integrated retailer with a culture all of our own and an exciting future. There couldn’t be a more exciting time to join Morrisons than right now. We’re opening more Morrisons M local stores, launching food online and we’re building up our Own Brands. Ambitious to become a multi-format and multi-channel retailer to be reckoned with, we’re offering our customers more of what matters to them.

Our Corporate Affairs and Communications team is one of the best there is. They make sure that we get our message across to the right people in the right way and cover a wide range of topics from communicating with Government and The City to keeping partners and the public in touch with happenings at local, regional and national level.

With so much going on there’s a huge amount to say. So we’re looking for someone to take over the all-important communications activity of at least one region. Working with local and national press, glossy magazines, TV and Radio as well as digital channels, you will develop and implement a comprehensive communications programme that includes school and community activities as well as involvement with charities. In short, you’ll manage all public communications to build and extend our reputation as active champions of the communities we serve,

It’s more than a job for your way with words. You will need to have a demonstrable track record in a high intensity corporate/media/agency environment, ideally involving retail or FMCG brands. Clearly conscious of the commercial edge in all your media relations work, you must be able to plan and deliver strategic programmes as well as day-to-day tactical projects on time and on budget. Confident, credible and communicative, you will be a natural networker with the education and intellect to influence opinions amongst a wide range of stakeholders. If you also have knowledge of community and charity work and have a background in line management, so much the better.

Our aim to offer more of what matters extends to our employees too. Join us and you can expect to enjoy great career prospects and a very competitive pay and benefits package. In addition to an attractive salary, we offer a discount card for you and a friend or family member giving you 10% off your shopping in Morrisons. We also offer company share options, a highly competitive pension scheme, Life Assurance and more besides.
