Public Affairs/Corporate PR Manager at a Leading Financial Services Provider

One of the UK's leading financial services providers is in search of a Corporate/ Financial PR Manager. 

 

The PR Manager sits within the Group External Communications team. Responsible for helping to protect and promote the reputation of the Group as a whole, this role encompasses corporate, trade, sponsorship and financial activity across a broad variety of channels and is a key member of the Group’s press office.

 

Responsibilities

Contribute towards the development of a Group External Communications strategy for the business Work with the Group Head of External Relations to help develop an appropriate corporate narrative for the Group Manage proactive and compelling issue led campaigns which help build the profile and demonstrate thought leadership Proactive media relations  - responsible for building positive and productive relationships with a range of City, business, management, personal finance, trade, and news journalists across a range of traditional and digital platforms Managing reputational risk - managing risks which may impact the reputation of the Group and maintaining a reputation risk log Crisis management – helping the Group Head of External Relations to developing an appropriate crisis management strategy. Handling media calls and drafting Q and As and positioning statements Financial

 

Responsibility for working with the Head of Corporate Affairs, the finance team and individual business units to develop compelling content for media materials for the Group’s financial announcements, distributing press releases to RNS and carrying out follow up media calls Manage other financial transactions such as M&A activity Provide content and  input and content to the annual report and accounts Work closely with the individual business units to develop appropriate strategies which result in positive, on message coverage in the trade press

 

Develop positive and productive relationships with a broad range of trade journalists

 

Build excellent relationships with stakeholders from across the individual business units and within Group functions such as HR, Finance and Legal

 

Manage PR agencies and other suppliers to ensure an excellent return on investment ensuring that key deliverables are met

 

Skills/experience required

 

Experience of managing compelling corporate and trade campaigns which target opinion formers. Evidence of working on campaigns which raise awareness, change behaviour and shift perception Financial communications experience Able to integrate digital activity seamlessly into corporate, trade and financial communication strategies Excellent media relations skills and good relationships across City, business, management, personal finance, trade and news journalists across a range of traditional and digital platforms Strong understanding of financial services Excellent judgement and intellectual rigour Results driven, resilient and dynamic
