Title: SharePoint Intranet Manager
Salary: c.£40k dependent upon experience, plus competitive benefits package
Our client is an entrepreneurial insurance intermediary offering more than 200 product lines with a turnover of more than £2bn of gross written premium.
As an experienced SharePoint developer/intranet manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day development, maintenance and support of their intranet site, ensuring the provision of a high quality, reliable and user friendly digital internal communications platform to over 5,500 employees across 150+ locations.
You will be expected to:
Work closely with the Group Communications Director and Internal Communications Business Partners to ensure that the Group intranet fulfils user requirements and business goals, aligning to the overall business strategy.
Maintain and develop the company intranet using EasySharePoint 2013 Content Management System.
Act as business lead and manage the 2014 project roadmap, identifying further opportunities to maximise the investment in this digital tool, including management of the project budget, internal resources and external suppliers.
Support the Group intranet superusers and business content owners in publishing their intranet content and building compelling and relevant assets for use on the intranet.
Create and manage the intranet change request process and the change requests submitted through this by business users, ensuring all changes are implemented according to appropriate/required timescales. Also manage the development of new intranet functionality and features as requested through the intranet change request process.
Define requirements for change which require additional SharePoint technical development and work closely with the internal Group IT team as appropriate to development and implement these changes. Where appropriate engage with retained/outsourced third parties as advised by Group IT.
Add value to all changes by proactively advising on best practice for new intranet sites and also recommending improvements to page layouts, page designs and end user journeys.
Oversee regular monitoring and evaluation on the Group intranet to drive improvements based on user experience, including carrying out regular user surveys and developing appropriate analytic tools.
Own the intranet users forum, acting as the intranet ‘guru’ and provide training to new superusers, editors and approvers. You will be responsible for regular face to face contact with the user community and strong interpersonal skills to determine and deliver the business requirements for the new Group intranet will be a key part of your role.
Act as business champion for the intranet, advising the Group Communications Director of development opportunities or risks, and of escalation of issues arising in the management on the intranet, should they arise.
Be part of a high performing Group Communications team that supports the wider Communications function in delivering its goals. Role model leadership behaviours and management processes to ensure a motivated and engaged team.
