About the role
Taking the lead in our press office team, you’ll develop and manage media relationships to maximise opportunities for impactful coverage of NFU issues in regional, national and trade press. You’ll also use your expertise to write engaging material for press use, delivering complex information in a clear, consistent and accessible way.
Educated to degree level and with a relevant professional qualification in journalism or equivalent experience, you’ll have considerable experience working in a busy press office or newsroom, motivating and leading a press team. If you’ve knowledge of agricultural and farming issues, even better. Along with previous budgetary management experience, you’ve a proven ability to plan and deliver a media strategy across a range of media platforms. A credible negotiator with exceptional communication skills, you’re a brilliant team player, confident building relationships and interacting with people at all levels.
You’ll join a proactive team at the heart of British agriculture. We’ll help you progress and develop your career, as well as offering a generous holiday allowance and an attractive contributory, stakeholder pension scheme.
