The role:

The consumer team is looking for a talented Account Manager to work on a huge fashion retail brand.  The role involves:

  • Keeping in regular contact with the client, updating the client on all current projects including the managing of a weekly work planner, leading weekly client conference call and attending client meetings

  • Keeping on top of the news agenda to identify opportunities for coverage such as reactive sales stories on the back of celebrity outfits or trends, new product launches and innovation, seasonal ranges and profile opps

  • Regularly meeting with consumer journalists, building new and existing media relationships product and model photography for new product launches and basic talent photography for charity campaigns

  • Managing news sell ins

  • Overseeing/hosting team brainstorms to form news ideas

  • Drafting news releases for current projects

  • Contributing to large activity proposal documents

  • Reviewing the weekly coverage report

  • Drafting and submitting survey questions to support news stories

  • Compiling a monthly PR activity document ahead of cross agency PR meetings

  • Managing junior members of the team

    Each June the team works on Graduate Fashion Week.  This role includes news generation around the event.  In addition the role includes managing photographers, writing on the spot press releases for immediate sell in from the event, talent handling (celebrity attendees), managing media, managing winners of the awards post show.

    The candidate:

    This role is essentially is to be the eyes and ears of the account - overseeing activity and suggesting new and innovative ideas for the brand on a day to day basis - so you need to be confident managing a client and putting forward innovative ideas.  Strong written skills are required as you would be drafting press releases, interview briefs, proposals, strategy documents etc.
