This is a fabulous opportunity to join a leading software publisher as a Technical Author. Our client provides award winning, affordable software for the everyday person, and in this exciting role you will be creating copy and ‘how to’ guides so customers can understand how to use their software effectively. In essence, you will be conveying quite techy info in a simple way so non technical people can understand it! You will also write online tutorials, develop video tutorials and deal with the localisation preparation for Help/How To Projects. In addition you will also be preparing and proofing copy for marketing communication materials, such as newsletters and email campaigns. You will ensure that these materials are written to a high standard, creating copy that will enhance the reader's experience and positively impact their perception of our client’s brand.
The ideal candidate will be educated to A-Level standard or equivalent and will have at least three years experience of writing online help for software products, creating printed publications for end user documentation and web based documentation. You will also have experience of help authoring tools as well as other graphic editing tools. It is essential that all candidates have video/audio editing experience, voiceover/narration skills, HTML5/CSS editing experience, excellent editorial skills and an excellent command of English with the ability to clearly explain complex issues. If selected for interview by our client you will need to be able to supply a sample of audio voiceover work (MP3, WAV) and links to online documentation, help, tutorials and video tutorials.
