Communications Manager

Hampshire / Southampton, Hampshire / Hamble, Hampshire£38,500 - £40,000 per annum

The Royal Yachting Association, based in Hamble, is the national governing body for all forms of boating, including dinghy and yacht racing, motor and sail cruising, RIBs and sports boats, powerboat racing, windsurfing, inland cruising and narrowboats, and personal watercraft.

We are looking for an accomplished public relations and/or communications professional to lead our communications activities from our office in Hamble and expand their scope, reach and impact. With an established communications team in place, our need is for an experienced strategist and results-orientated manager who can contribute to the cross-organisational PR effort and ensure that the appropriate messages are communicated effectively to their target audiences.  The Communications Manager provides particular support for our public affairs and training activities.

You are likely to have a general or specialised corporate PR or communications background and will be able to demonstrate the vision, skills and experience to develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that promotes the RYA and the sports it represents. You will need the personal authority and skills to manage and develop staff, guide colleagues and stakeholders, represent the RYA and influence outcomes at the highest levels.

Salary £38,500 - £40,000 per annum - 35 hours per week
