Marketing & Communications Officer
This is a rare opportunity to join a well respected and revered charity where you will assist in the delivery of communications and marketing activity across the group. This charity has been in existence for over 20 years and have cultivated their reputation by virtue of an innovative and holistic approach to their work.
The key function of the role is to deliver communications activity that supports strategic objectives, working alongside their other business units to support and maximise income generation activities and ensure all communication is carried out in a timely, targeted and cost effective manner. You will run an effective marketing and communications service, including an efficient design and print capability which meets the needs of the group.
You will ensure all communication channels are fully integrated and appropriately positioned for each of the key audiences with whom the group is communicating and ensure their profile is increased and communications opportunities are maximised to raise awareness of all charity activity. At all times, you will lead the development and implementation of the charity’s communications strategy which includes both internal and external communications and agree future objectives and targets in conjunction with their other business units. It is important that you can develop creative marketing ideas and innovative solutions from concept through to production to support their various activities. You will also support the growth and development of new and improved channels of communication to promote their charitable activities and monitor all key performance indicators.
You will also be involved in the development of all internal communications such as newsletters as well as supporting the development of their website. This will involve keeping content up to date and you will also oversee their social media strategy ensuring all digital opportunities are maximised.
What we’re looking for
It is essential that you are educated to degree level or equivalent and to have a solid 2 – 3 years experience in marketing or communications sector, ideally within the voluntary or health related sectors. It is also essential that you have experience of writing press material and handling the media with awareness of digital marketing. It is also necessary that you have excellent writing skills and be able to develop good working relationships at all levels.
