My client, a forward-thinking healthcare business, is looking for a Senior Manager, UK Corporate Communications. The role is responsible for building and maintaining the company’s reputation with external stakeholders including HCPs, policy makers, the media and patients.
The role is accountable for identifying opportunities for stories/coverage which positively impact the UK’s and the global reputation through building relationships with the media covering healthcare companies. This role requires the ability to think strategically and provide counsel to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders on diverse topics. It is also responsible for the management of public relations and creative agencies and the corporate communications budget.
On a day to day basis you will develop corporate communications and content management strategies and oversee development of corporate narrative, key messages, media resources and other communication tools. You will also be expected to manage amplification of external communications materials and develop and maintain trusted relationships with key journalists.   An understanding of issue and crisis management is also crucial as you will be asked to anticipate potential issues and proactively develop issues management plans and response documents plus ensuring close coordination with HQ Public Affairs.   Apart from using traditional comms channels you will also manage development and continued improvement of the company’s external website, and develop a web strategy including how to maximise visitors, contribute to healthcare sustainability, and corporate responsibility.   The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience of managing large scale communications campaigns in-house or in a healthcare agency/team. Aside from your core competencies you will also be able to build strong relationships with peers and cross functionally and with partners outside the team to enable higher performance. You will be someone who motivates and can influence others, including those over whom they have no direct authority.
