We collect £537 billion in tax revenues a year that pay for public services, so we need millions of customers to take action by hard deadlines – from tax credits renewals to Self Assessment. So we need clear, simple and effective communications campaigns to reach them. Planning, leading and managing this all is as demanding and exciting as you think. As our Head of Campaigns, you’ll lead our Social Media and Marketing Teams. You’ll be accountable for some of the most followed social media accounts in Whitehall, and all our paid-for communications – think commissioning content, buying media and working with external agencies.
Motivating, managing and monitoring the teams, you’ll push them to achieve new heights and your own high standards. At the same time, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders across HMRC; understanding their needs, giving expert advice and planning attention-grabbing, action-driving campaigns. And whether you’re working on a high-profile annual project or running a pilot, you’ll explore digital options and innovative approaches – keeping one eye on the budget and the other on your metrics.
Thanks to your editorial experience and extensive background in paid-for marketing, digital and social media, you’ll be no stranger to campaign strategy, planning and coordination. Having taken the lead on programme and project delivery, you’ll have a keen commercial understanding, complemented by exceptional people and stakeholder management skills. You’ll make the right decisions based on robust data, selecting channels that deliver the biggest impact and the best value. And you’ll do it all at pace.
