Senior Media & PR Officer – Healthcare Charity
A fantastic opportunity to join a high profile healthcare charity as their Senior Media & PR Officer. You will be reporting into the Senior Media, PR and Campaigns Manager.
As the Senior Media & PR Officer you will lead on developing PR and campaigns to support the charity’s policy and public affairs agenda.
You will identify opportunities for media coverage (online and offline) on policy around the key issues relating to the charity and will ensure that they are well placed to respond quickly to the news agenda.
You will work closely in partnership with Fundraising, Caring Services and Research, with the aim of securing positive, consistent and meaningful media coverage.
You will be a key influencer within the organisation liaising directly with the Chief Executive and Executive Board.
You will also act as a guardian for the reputation of the charity, identifying potential risks, co-ordinating and managing the PR response for issues. This will include keeping ahead of NHS/Government issues – and preparing responses.
You will develop and deliver integrated media campaigns to support the work of the Policy and Public Affairs Directorate to promote the charity’s services, campaigns and Parliamentary activity to key influencers, policy makers and the wider public.
You will work with the Senior Media, PR and Campaigns Manager to develop and implement the charity’s Social Media Strategy and to support all its activity through its digital channels.
You will develop and manage effective relationships with the charity’s Ambassadors from healthcare professionals through to celebrities.
You will work with multiple stakeholders across the charity to deliver a significant integration between Caring Services and Fundraising communications.
To be considered for this role you will have: -
Substantial charity PR experience at senior level with solid experience in Public Affairs Campaigning and issues management
Strong PR and communications experience in the health, consumer and regional media
Experience of developing and delivering integrated campaigns
Experience of briefing and managing agencies and freelancers
Budget management experience
Experience of delivering campaign reporting, metrics and insights
Line management experience
Experience of using digital and social media communications as well as traditional media channels
