About the role

This role is an exciting opportunity to support the work of the Research Councils communications teams. You will take ownership of reactive media enquiries and secure consistent national, regional and sector specific media coverage for strategic campaigns. You will be well supported with training and the chance to learn from experienced and dedicated communications professionals. You will also provide coordination and support to relevant collective groups, activities and campaigns. This is a full time, two year fixed term contract.

About you

The ability to work easily with colleagues on multiple sites and an open, flexible attitude to the challenges presented everyday by a fast-changing media landscape is a given. A sound knowledge of, and interest in, research is essential. You will preferably have a degree in science/arts or equivalent experience alongside excellent written and oral English communication skills. You will be able to work autonomously to deadlines and have strong proof-reading and editing skills.
