Director / Board Director - Financial Services / Regulated sector

A long-standing, forward thinking client of ours is looking for a Director / Board Director ideally with Financial Services experience or from another regulated industry e.g. tech, insurance, energy.   The agency operates mainly in the B2B space, as well as some B2C. They work with some huge brands and do some market leading work primarily in the FS sector but also some others including Fintech , Investment, Property and other areas. They don’t expect anyone to be an expert in all of these areas but FS / Financial Services experience would really help / desire to learn about it.

They are looking for a Board Director / Director that really wants a leading role that will have a genuine impact with their work / leadership. There are some fantastic progression opportunities available.

The role offers a lot of variety:

Account lead:

Lead on retained accounts – set the strategic agenda, be the senior client counsel, ensure the team is working on the day-to-day and, ultimately, that the client is happy.

They work in a ‘Matrix-style’ structure which means they work with different individuals on different accounts.  Your client servicing style will need to be flexible. Some accounts require real hands on idea generation and, quite frankly, writing expertise. Others benefit from a slightly more hands-off approach. This really depends on the team and the client.

One day, you might be coming up with a thought leadership project idea. Another it might be some crisis fire-fighting.

Realistically, you will be on 90% of the weekly status calls.

It’s also worth noting how important having a commercial mind is. There are always opportunities to sell projects or other services within the agency.

New Business: This might include sourcing opportunities, leading on a full, RFP-style pitch or something lighter-touch like a creds meeting.

Line management

Management Team: You will sit in the management team.  This comprises of a bi-weekly meeting where we look at the goings on within the PR side. This might be people issues, new business pressures, more generic management tasks or anything else involved in the running of a business. It includes resourcing, over-servicing, KPIs, growth, proposition development and everything in between.
