The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the Government department responsible for collecting and publishing official statistics about the UK's society and economy, and also carries out the ten-yearly census.

 

Our work is vital to the Government, local and health authorities, industry, researchers, students and the public. We inform decision-making at all levels and provide information that is official and independent. Ours are the most up-to-date statistics on all aspects of UK life, making ONS a challenging and diverse workplace.
