UK Power Networks is the distribution business in East Anglia, London and the South East. We own and operate three public electricity distribution networks, sometimes referred to as DNO’s. We also build, operate and maintain private electricity networks for external clients such as BAA and London Underground. 

Our distribution networks are vast; we cover an area from Littlehampton in the South to Norfolk in East Anglia, as well as London. To manage these we have split our area into Regions which are Region 1 (London), Region 2 (South East), Region 3 (Eastern South) and Region 4 (Eastern North). 

London Region operates out of Bidder Street in West Ham, South East Region operates out of Maidstone, Eastern Region (South) is based in Potters Bar and finally Eastern Region (North) is located in Bury St. Edmunds. 

We also have a major presence in Crawley, Sussex and our Control Centre is based in Fore Hamlet Ipswich. Along with these major locations UK Power Networks operates out of 90 other locations spread across our operational area. 

UK Power Networks has both regulated and unregulated operations. Our regulated operations are closely monitored by Ofgem, with Guaranteed Standards and Licence Condition rules, the most commonly known being Licence Condition 42 (LC42) (formally known as LC39) and we are also covered by Competition Law. Our unregulated operations are mainly the operation of private electricity networks for external clients.
