The BHF is the largest independent funder of cardiovascular research in the UK, which helps save lives by advancing prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart and circulatory diseases. The RCO plays a vital role as the link between BHF researchers and the public and as such should be a fluent/natural writer, skilled at tailoring information for a range of audiences.

Thriving in a fast-paced environment, you will be talented at identifying great research stories and bringing these to life for the media, our website and our supporters. This varied role would suit an enthusiastic science writer/communicator with superb interpersonal skills and, ideally, press office experience. You will be able to juggle tasks and work under pressure to deliver a first class service within the charity, assisting colleagues across the organisation, You will also play a key role in providing research information to support fundraising programmes, especially in the field of regenerative medicine helping to drive communications for our most ambitious fundraising appeal ever Mending Broken Hearts.

You'll get to work with diverse teams across the charity, as well as some of the top cardiovascular scientists in the UK and journalists to promote BHF research in local and national media. This role requires handling of research information, so a degree in a biomedical science and work experience in a related field is essential, and a communication qualification is also desirable.
