 Job Purpose and Summary 

Manage the implementation of Pan European (PE) and local tactical PR activities. Act as local spokesperson and manage press evaluation & monitoring. Deliver all local internal and external events and manage UK National Sales Office (NSO) involvement in PE events. Manage internal communication channels and ensure messages are aligned with Canon Europe Ltd (CEL) and external communications.

Responsibilities and Tasks 

Implement and measure all PE Business Imaging , PE Consumer Imaging and Corporate PR campaigns to directly support business objectives. 

Aligned to the PE PR strategy, define, develop, implement and measure local tactical PR campaigns against immediate business needs.

Manage local process approval of press releases, support documents and editorial with key stakeholders for specific product categories/groups.

Ensure these are accurate and factual and sent on time. 

Develop innovative Thought Leadership and social media projects and manage Canon local profile with this media. 

Manage corporate profile with media & analysts. 

Manage local agency briefings and performance reviews. 

Management of press activities and content at PR events and launches, Evaluation, reporting and planning based on PR Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (Metrica analysis). 

Relationship management of local Journalists and spokespeople. 

Manage the delivery of local internal and external events and act as the NSO interface to CEL for all PE events. 

Team leader for the PR, Internal Comms & Events team. 

Responsible for objective setting and performance management of direct reports. 

Manage company and employee announcements – cascaded from Canon Europe as well as local announcements. 

Manage editorial production for local employee publications such as magazines and intranet. 

Manage pan European employee communication cascade, e.g. new year address, mid year business update. Ensure all communications are in line with company philosophy of Kyosei and promote CSR initiatives internally

Required Skills and Qualifications 

Proven PR experience.

Educated to degree level or equivalent. 

Team Leader/supervisory experience. 

Excellent English language skills. 

Can work effectively with all internal stakeholders and external agencies. 

Self motivated, pragmatic with a high level of initiative and drive to succeed. 

Ability to plan and organize workload effectively to meet deadlines.
