Press Officer, East Coast

Highly Competitive Salary

East Coast operates trains and manages stations on one of Britain’s premier long-distance rail routes, linking the capitals of England and Scotland.

We’re looking for a new Press Officer to join our communications team based in York.

The role, which reports to our Senior Media Manager, involves the promotion of travel by East Coast and the protection and enhancement of the Company’s reputation in print, broadcast, trade and online media.

You will co-ordinate news, feature and commercial filming on-board trains and at East Coast locations, and assist in the delivery of media training to East Coast’s senior team. You’ll also deputise for the Senior Media Manager, acting as company spokesman, and you’ll be flexible to potential out-of-hours work, including joining our on-call Press Office rota.

Exemplary writing and verbal skills are a must-have, as are a degree or equivalent in relevant experience. You’ll also have a demonstrable track record of success in a busy media relations/Press Office role, and of acting as company spokesman to print and broadcast media at a regional and national level.

In return, we’ll reward you with a competitive salary and benefits including travel, and the chance to work in a historic city with two national parks on its doorstep.
